Over how many months can I borrow a £400 loan?

With Cashfloat, you can borrow £400 over three or four months. The choice is yours. Borrowing over four months will make your loan slightly more expensive overall, but your monthly payments will be smaller and more manageable. If you borrow £400 over three months, you’ll pay a little less overall and finish your loan quicker, but you’ll have to pay slightly more each month.

As well as having regular three or four month repayment plans, Cashfloat also have a feature called Easy Start. If you opt for Easy Start, we’ll make some adaptations to your three or four month repayment plan. What will happen is that you’ll pay a reduced amount in the first month, and then you’ll get an extra monthly payment added on to the end of your repayment plan. This is done to help people with the first monthly repayment, which is when they’re most likely to struggle to be able to pay.

You can repay your loan early if you want

When someone takes out a loan, the normal thing is to stick to the monthly payment plan. But with Cashfloat, if you want to, you can also make early repayments on your loan. You can either make a partial early payment or you can close your whole loan earlier than originally planned. Doing both of these things will save you money. There are no fees for doing this, and you’ll save money on interest as well.

Can I get a £400 loan with a bad credit score?

Having a bad credit score can sometimes make it harder to get a loan. At Cashfloat, however, we try to help people with bad credit scores get the cash they need.

Whatever your credit score, you’re welcome to apply for a £400 Cashfloat loan. When we assess someone’s suitability for a loan, we do look at their credit score. As well as this, however, we also try to make an accurate assessment of a person’s current level of affordability when they make an application. Credit scores aren’t the only thing that matters. If you pass our affordability test and can demonstrate that you can afford to repay a loan, there’s a good chance you’ll be approved.

You should try to improve your credit score

Bear in mind that it’s always a good idea to try to repair your credit rating if it’s been damaged. Interest rates for people with improved credit scores are higher, higher credit limits may be on offer, and there may be other advantages to having a better credit score as well.

Can I get a Cashfloat loan with no credit check at all?

No. Cashfloat is a responsible Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) approved lender who cares about your financial safety. Even for small amounts like £400, we always carry out a credit check before approving a loan. This is an FCA requirement, and it’s also a normal part of responsible lending. You should never take a loan from a lender that offers one without a credit check. They could be a loan shark, and you could end up in serious trouble.

How quickly can I get a £400 loan?

At Cashfloat, we process applications and fund loans super fast!

We aim to provide an approval decision within 30 minutes of an application being made. If you’re approved for a loan, we also aim to get the funds to your bank account within an hour of approval*.

We’d like to, but unfortunately, we can’t provide loans instantly after people apply. As we just mentioned, as a regulated payday loan lender, we have to carry out a credit check and make a responsible lending decision before we can approve a loan. This doesn’t take long, but it does take a little bit of time. The good news is that most people get a quick decision and super fast funding as well.

FAQs

Why is it better to borrow a £400 loan from a direct lender?

A payday loan direct lender processes your application themselves and gives you the money directly. When you apply with a credit broker, on the other hand, they take your application to other lenders and look to find you a loan from one of them. With a credit broker, the process takes longer, it’s less personal, your information gets shared with other parties and you have to pay a broker’s fee.

Our opinion: Borrow money from a direct lender like Cashfloat for a faster, more secure, cheaper and more convenient experience.

Can I access Cashfloat loans 24/7?

You can access our loan application system 24/7, 365 days a year. Applications are processed Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm. If you apply outside of these hours, we’ll process your application straight away on the next working day. We’re committed to getting you the money you need without delay.

Can I get a £400 loan if I’m on benefits?

Yes, you can. To get a Cashfloat loan, you just need to have a steady source of income. Benefits can form part of a steady source of income as long as they’re not your only source of income. You’ll need to have a paid source of income alongside your benefits, but being on benefits doesn’t mean automatic disqualification. Bear in mind that you’ll also need to pass our affordability test, and we may ask you for proof of your income.

What can I do if Cashfloat can’t approve my loan application?

At Cashfloat, we do our best to approve every application that comes through our system. There are, however, times when we can’t approve an application. At these times, with your permission, we are able to act as an authorised credit broker to help you find a short term loan from another provider. Our broker services can even help people with a bad credit score. We do not charge customers anything for our credit brokerage service.

What if I can’t repay my £400 loan on time?

Unexpected expenses sometimes come up when someone’s still trying to repay a loan. All it takes is another unexpected emergency repair bill or something like that to throw a repayment plan off kilter.

The best thing to do if this happens is to be realistic about how much you can afford to pay towards your loan and reach out to your creditors for help. At Cashfloat, our customer service team are very understanding. Our staff will advise you on the best way forward. In some cases, they may renegotiate your repayment plan so it better suits your circumstances.
